About Wholebody Health

Welcome to Wholebody Health for Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

I spent my childhood in Hong Kong and later went back to the UK for secondary school and University. I studied Law at the University of Manchester and then spent few years travelling around the world and exploring different career options but not really finding anything that sang to my head and my heart. I had my first acupuncture treatment in my 20s and was so inspired by the beauty of what this medicine can offer that a few months later I signed up to acupuncture school and have never looked back!

I completed my BHSc in Acupuncture in Christchurch and had the most amazing but also challenging few years. In 2010/2011, Christchurch experienced disastrous earthquakes that caused major damage to the city, many people were injured and there were almost 200 fatalities. I was privileged to be able to help at the New Zealand Earthquake Recovery Centre where I treated many patients who were seriously affected by physical and emotional trauma and I really learnt to appreciate the true impact that shock and trauma can have.

I spent 6 months on the beautiful island of Antigua in the Caribbean. This was a totally different experience where I treated a wide range of patients including locals who had very limited access to health care, holiday makers and even competitive athletes.

I started Wholebody Acupuncture when I returned to the UK and opened a lovely family clinic in Plymouth, Devon. I started studying Chinese Herbal Medicine at the White Crane Academy, another 3 years of training, so that I could offer the full depth of Chinese medicine to my patients and I now have a clinic in the parish of St Peter on the beautiful island of Jersey where I treat a whole range of issues including;

  • Womens Health & Fertility;
  • Pain and injury;
  • Chronic illness management; and
  • Paediatrics and Children's Health.

I'm always looking at new techniques and methods to help my patients. I am trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine but I often incorporate Japanese style acupuncture and moxibustion in my treatments, and for those that are very needle shy, it is possible to use no needles at all.

Areas of Special Interest

While Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of things, I have a special interest in Womens Health & Fertility and chronic illness management; it's wonderful to be able to offer hope and relief to patients who feel like their options are very limited. The beauty of acupuncture is that it suits everybody, and as Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners, we have a totally different way of looking at the body and can often see a way forward when convention medicine can't.

Womens Health & Fertility

I really love helping people to start or grow their family, especially when they've been having difficulty. When it comes to fertility, Acupuncture and Chinese medicine have a totally different perspective and diagnosis that can offer so much to help and support couples to have a baby.

Whether you are planning a natural pregnancy and birth or require intervention from ART or IVF, Acupuncture can help with your physical and mental wellbeing.

Pain, Illness and Neurodegenerative Conditions

I often use Balance style acupuncture for pain management which allows treatment of the area of pain or injury without having to actually touch where it hurts! I also use a range of other techniques including scalp and ear acupuncture that can be very beneficial for managing pain and neurodegenerative conditions.

Paediatrics and Children's Health

For babies and children, I use Japanese shonishin and median therapy which is very gentle and requires no needles at all!
